IDOC Hosts Its Largest National Optometry Conference
March 6, 2017, Orlando, FL – IDOC, the largest privately held alliance of independent optometrists in the United States hosted over 400 independent optometrists, staff members and vendor partners during its National Conference at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando, FL from February 9-11, 2017.
Highlights of the conference included: Practice Management COPE accredited courses from Dr. Mark Wright and Medical CE sessions from Dr. John Rumpakis. COPE CE credits from IDOC consultants included Dr. Neil Gailmard, a first ever “School for Staff” session and updates from vendor partners about their latest offerings in support of independent optometry.
A key feature of IDOC meetings are full day “Roundtables” where independent optometrists come together to discuss the issues they face and share the solutions they have put in action. At the end of the daylong sessions, IDOC members come together to summarize highlights. In addition to the educational benefits, there is great camaraderie as friends reconnect and enjoy the social aspect of the meeting as well. IDOC vendor partners also enjoyed the numerous opportunities for independent optometrists to stop by their exhibit booths to learn about their new innovations. Dr. Neil Gailmard summarized this event by saying, “Once again, independent optometrists and their staff in attendance came away with excellent learning from our great speakers, in areas ranging from practice management, to medical, to participating in roundtable discussions with fellow ODs or staff members. We look forward to seeing these members at future meetings to learn how they have been successful implementing all that they learned.”
IDOC will host a second National Meeting in Denver, CO from October 25-28, 2017 where IDOC members and staff come together to learn from industry leading speakers as well as interact and learn from each other. IDOC will return to Gaylord Palms for one of its National Conference next year, to be held February 15-17, 2018.
