Primary Eyecare Network (PEN) — a division of ABB Optical Group — is offering three educational opportunities for eye care professionals in April, including Ransomware/Audit Update webinar and two hands-on lensometry courses in Alameda, Calif.

Ransomware/Audit Update
April 5, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. PT
Webinar
Free for PEN members; $15 for non-members
Led by certified professional coder Ann Bina of CS Eye, an optical billing and compliance firm, this webinar will cover how to protect optical practices from hackers and optometry-specific audits.

Basic Lensometry 
April 27, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT
1750 N. Loop Road, Alameda, Calif.
$110 for PEN members; $155 for non-members
This hands-on workshop is designed as a beginner’s guide. Attendees will learn about lensometer use, care and principles, and acquire practical measurement skills. Approved by the American Board of Opticianry for two hours of continuing education credits, the course will be led by Mindi Lewis, an American Board of Opticianry certified optician (ABOC) and fellow of the National Academy of Opticianry (FNAO).

Advanced Lensometry 
April 27, 1 to 4 p.m.
1750 N. Loop Road, Alameda, Calif.
$110 per person for PEN members; $155 per person for non-members
Also led by Lewis, this workshop will focus on teaching more advanced lensometry skills. Participants will learn to measure prescribed and un-prescribed prisms and progressive lens powers. The course is approved by the American Board of Opticianry for two hours of continuing education credits.
