Ray-Ban Launches Prescription Lenses, Customizable Sunglass Temples

Luxottica brand Ray-Ban recently launched their own prescription lenses, and are allowing customers the capability to customize their sunglasses' temples using their social media feed.

For the first time, Ray-Ban is offering a wide range of frames with authentic Ray-Ban prescription lenses. Available as of April 10th, the new lenses reportedly use a pioneered process called Digital Surface Technology (DST) that are tailor-made to a customer's specific vision correction requirements for clearer vision and to help alleviate eye strain. Lens colors range from standard g-15 to flash to gradient lenses, and each pair comes with a unique stamp of authenticity. When frames and lenses are ordered, the finished product reportedly takes about six days.

And through Ray-Ban's new REMIX feature, customers can customize their sunglass temples using their social media feed. Inspired by the pioneering spirit of one-of-a-kind personalities combined with the rise of social media culture, the new technology incorporates key moments from your social media feed onto black Ray-Ban New Wayfarer frames. Customers choose where they want photos taken from — Facebook or Instagram — and the REMIX feature generates a unique design based on what they select.
