TearLab Receives Mexican Regulatory Approval for Osmolarity System

TearLab Corporation recently announced it has received approval from the Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios (COFEPRIS) in Mexico for its TearLab Osmolarity System, allowing the company to begin selling the product in the country.

TearLab reportedly expects to launch the Osmolarity System in the Mexican market in the first half of 2017, and has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Cyan Medica.

According to TearLab, the Osmolarity System reportedly provides an objective assessment to diagnose and manage patients with dry eye disease (DED) by measuring the osmolarity of human tears.
