 VSP Open Enrollment Poll Finds More Americans Knowledgeable About Their Vision Benefits

VSP Vision Care's second annual national poll regarding health insurance open enrollment found more respondents feel knowledgeable about their vision benefits than last year, and more consider having a vision plan important.

According to VSP, the number of respondents who reported feeling "more knowledgeable" about their vision benefits increased by 11 points this year — 66 percent compared to 55 percent last year. And 83 percent of respondents ranked having a vision plan as "important" or "very important," compared to 73 percent in 2015.

The annual poll also found 36 percent of respondents felt "dread" or "annoyance" when thinking about open enrollment, with more than half (53 percent) "satisfied" or "relieved" when the process was over. Respondents over the age of 45 were more likely to set aside time to review information on their insurance options than those under 45, who reported they were more likely to talk about it with their coworkers.
