Volk Optical has expanded the capabilities of its Volk Eye Check portable ophthalmic exam tool, with the addition of a Best Fit Analysis Report to its Contact Lens (CL) Mode. Capable of a number of key measurements, the Volk Eye Check captures and fully automates the analysis and display of ocular characteristics for contact lens fitting and general diagnostics. The new Best Fit Analysis Report further improves first time fit rates for both standard and specialty lens patients.
Volk Eye Check’s CL Mode provides the precise measurements becoming standard in contact lens fitting:
- Horizontal Visible Iris Diameter (HVID) to instantly pinpoint the best fitting contact lens
- Pupil diameter to enhance visual acuity in multifocal lens wearers
- Sagittal depth to improve overall fit over traditional k-values alone
The newly added Best Fit Analysis Report makes the process of fitting CLs easier, saving valuable physician and fitting optician time.
Using Volk Eye Check measurements, Best Fit Analysis generates a patient-specific report, recommending the most appropriate lenses by brand and type. Best Fit Reports quickly identify patients suitable for specialty lenses, and increase first time fit rates. Practitioners are able to select the exact brand and dimensional specifications of the standard or specialty lenses required, without the need to browse online, flip through a long catalog, or communicate with the contact lens manufacturer. For more difficult and custom cases, the reports can be sent directly to contact lens manufacturers to aid in the fitting process. By precisely pinpointing the most appropriate lens for each patient, comfort based lens drop outs are reduced.
The Volk Eye Check’s touch-screen interface is easily navigated for seamless integration into the practice environment. Its real-time, accurate and objective results enable quick decision making and can be output to electronic records management systems with USB and WiFi connectivity.
